Post Title: Laboratory Technician // Level: Individual Contractor

Initial Contract: 3 months
UNIOGBIS invites candidates for the position highlighted above. Description of Main Duties:
Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties (these duties are generic):
- Perform the laboratory test prescribed by the doctors;
- Keep the records of the entire laboratory test performed;
- Performs tests and readings so as to alert the doctors if the case needed;
- Applies standards of bio hazardous management in the laboratory;
- Ensures safety of the patients in performing necessary medical tests;
- Ensure confidentiality in management of the results of the tests performed;
- Knowledge of management of blood bank is a plus;
- Knowledge of the dry chemistry techniques is a must;
- At least 10 years of experience as Laboratory technician;
- Maintains patient records and exercises confidentiality;
- Accords patients’ fair and equal treatment regardless of ethnic background;
- Work on shifting schedule and be on call for emergencies when needed;
- Knowledge of the medical equipments and its proper use;
- Assist the reception whenever needed

Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
Degree from a recognized university/school. National registration and license are required.
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsible laboratory experience in medical field. Experience in emergencies is a requirement.
Language:
Fluent in oral and written English and Portuguese.
Preference will be given to equally qualified women candidates.
